Chocolate Chip Bourbon Pecan Pie (aka D.U.I. Pie)

Submitted by: Kim D

The best thing to come out of a work conference was this recipe; passed on by a true southerner who knew her bourbon and her pies. This quickly became required at Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.

Ingredients

1/4 Cup Butter

1 Cup Sugar

3 Eggs, beaten

1/4 Cup Light corn syrup

1/4 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Vanilla extract (a little more is better)

3/4 Cup Semi-sweet chocolate morsels (I prefer dark chocolate)

1 Cup Peacan halves

1/4 Cup Bourbon

1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked

Preparation & Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 375

Cream butter

Add sugar gradually

Add beaten eggs, syrup, salt, and vanilla

Stir in chocolate chips, nuts, and bourbon until well mixed

Pour into an unbaked pie shell

Bake for 50 minutes or until the center has set. You can put foil around the edges to protect them if the center needs to cook longer
